Motse Wa Kgalalelo

LOCATION:  Maun, Botswana • PRIMARY WORK: Orphans and Vulnerable Children  • ESTABLISHED: 2003

Established in 2008, Motse wa Kgalalelo aims to provide a broad based support service to the vulnerable group made up of orphans, destitute people, abandoned children and less privileged children. The centre plans to establish a residential home or orphanage for all children ages 0-18 regardless of gender, colour, culture etc. The home plans to serve as a safe place where the children will be given love, security and a positive fresh start in life and a brighter future.

Motse wa Kgalalelo also plans to run a project working with pregnant teens and to help them by “giving them the light of knowing that young pregnancy is not the end of the world.” The society will assist the young mothers in the upbringing of their babies and provide them with help looking after the babies so the mothers can seek jobs.

Currently, Motse wa Kgalalelo operates from its office at Old Mall Sethunya Building First Floor adjacent to Standard Chartered Bank. The society plans to carry out its activities in this place until it can relocate to its plot which is currently being developed.
