On 29 August 2015, NCONGO will host the first instalment of the annual Maun Marathon® in Maun. We believe that it is appropriate to start holding an event of this magnitude in Maun, the hub of tourism which boasts of the mighty Okavango Delta, Tsodilo Hills, Lake Ngami, the Thamalakane River and other rich attractions of tourists. Runners from across the country and abroad will gather to break a sweat in Maun. The event comes exactly 100 years after the establishment of Maun, hence it will form part of the festivities celebrating 100 years of existance of modern day Maun. This event will catapult Maun into an Sport Tourism centre in Botswana. The event will also be used to celebrate sportsmen of Ngamiland who, for over the years, have raised our country’s flag. This event intends to place our village and country on the world map and thus show that tranquillity and sporting excellence beckons everyone to the country of Botswana, our pride and the people’s destination
